I love this sewing machine! Previously I used brother's one, but it was no power. So I decided to buy another sewing machine.This machine is really great because it is powerful.

Love this machine. It works great and sews right through the jeans layers with hardly an effort.

I have computerized sewing machines but bought this to handle heavier jobs. I love this machine, it stitches through thick seams without any issues. It's a real workhorse. Also, Mr Vac and Mrs Sew have the best customer service, very helpful. Shipping was fast. I am a very happy customer of theirs!

This machine is incredible. When I started sewing, I made the mistake of buying a cheap machine (under $70). I learned my lesson. Before buying this machine I did a ton of research. All the reviews I read for the HD-1000 were excellent. The only trouble I had was chosing between the HD-1000 and HD-3000. I am able to sew uneven layers without stopping. I am also able to raise and drop the feed dogs without having to adjust the tension. The machine is heavy because the majority of it is solid metal. All in all, a great machine! I am also happy with the two day shipping and freebies!

I wanted a heavy duty machine to sew upholstery projects but also to do general sewing. This is a fine machine. It sews thick layers with ease and the stitches are consistent. It took me a minute or two to figure out the self-threader but other than that the instruction book is clear and the machine works like a dream.

First I ordered a Janome 7318. Then I discoverd that the Janome HD1000 has a cast aluminum body. I was looking for a very heavy duty, yet simple to operate machine to replace a 35 year old Riccar. This model fit the bill. It sews very smoothly and the fit and finish is great. The staff was very helpfull with my order change, and the shipping was lightning fast.

Solid sturdy practical machine. I hope it lasts 25 years like my last 2 machines did. The only drawback is that one can not see when the bobbin is getting low on thread. The delivery was unbelievably prompt. It functioned perfectly just out of the box and what a great price!

Purchased this with a DC2012 to have heavy duty back up for an upholstery project. Might just be nostalgia, but I was so excited when I got this out of the box because it reminded me of my beloved Kenmore 358 which finally died. I looked for years for something simple, sturdy and not electronic and couldn't find anything in the Singer (makers of Kenmore) family. They had gone entirely to lightweight plastic and none of the machines had the heft needed, in my opinion, to really tackle bigger jobs. The HD1000 is plastic and metal, but considerably heavier than similar low end models I've seen in the retail market. I bought it sight unseen, which made me a little nervous, but am so glad I did! Haven't started my upholstery project yet, but mended both leather and 'pleather' with it and used it to sew a buckram lining for a purse. It performed like a dream.

Finally a machine that I can use without wanting to kill somebody. Great machine with just good old fashioned feel.

This is my very first sewing machine ever and I absolutely love it! Mr. Vac and Mrs. Sew were so great! They shipped my item the next day even though I ordered it late the day before and it arrived in 2 days!! Plus the free 4 piece VIP package was a great bonus! I love how the Janome HD1000 comes with a hard cover case and a handle for easy carry. I needed a heavy duty machine and this definitely did the job. I am a super satisfied customer and would highly recommend the Janome HD1000.

This is one powerful machine love it!

Really a good machine - so glad I bought this one! I used to sew all the time and wanted a sturdy, easy to operate/control, reliable machine. This is it! It's heavy, but not too heavy to lift, sews like a dream, and voluminous drapery fabrics are no problem for this workhorse. Sews a nice, even stitch, switches to zigzag without a problem, tension is easy, easy to adjust. I love it!
