A walking foot is a special foot attachment for a sewing machine, which allows for the ability to sew through multiple layers of fabric, and example being when quilting, without moving the upper and lower fabric pieces. This particular foot attachment is perfect for sewing on slippery (For Example: rayon, silk) fabrics. This foot is also known a dual feed dog foot because it serves as a set of two feed dogs as the foot works as if is an upper level of feed dog which works in conjunction with the feed dogs on the bottom.
