What is a Peplum?

A Peplum is a type of an overskirt, which begins at the waistline and ruffles outwards. The look is very dated and was very popular in the 80s. A Peplum is sometimes used as decorative hem on jackets. Another method of using peplum is to embellish blouses, jackets, dresses, skirts and other tops.
