What is a Hong Kong Finish?
A Hong Kong finish is a binding seam finish, which encloses the raw edges of seams within strips of bias. Both sides of the seam require two passes to sew the bias. Due to the time and labor intensive nature of this seam the Hong Kong finish is mostly only used in very high-end garments. This type of finish is especially useful when creating projects with summer or heavy fabrics, which you would not want to line.
