Upper thread not properly being set up or incorrect threading can lead to what is known as a bird’s nest. A bird’s nest is when thread becomes tangled under the fabric. The tangled thread resembles a bird’s nest hence the name of the item. Thread Bird’s Nest are avoided heavily when doing sewing projects because they are difficult and not fun to remove from projects.
