How do Chopsticks relate to Sewing?
A perfect tool for pushing corners into good form, pushing cuff corners, or any item which requires turning. Chopsticks are a good tool because they are blunt and there so there is no worries about them poking through. An example of this is if you have sewn collar right sides together and cut the triangle off the top, chopsticks can be used to create a tight tip to each side of the collar by pushing inside it.

What is Chicken Scratch?
Chicken Scratch is a technique of embroidering on gingham, using the squares of gingham as a guide. Creating a unique and interesting effect, as shown in the picture to the left.

What is Butting?
Butting is when you bring two edges of material together but do not let the edges of the material overlap each other. One way of creating this effect is by using a zigzag stitch to hold together the two butted edges, this is also know as abutting.

What is a Dart?
A dart is a tapered adjustment, usually consisting of a V-Shape, it is typically a fold inside the marked V-Shape. Darts are useful when creating clothing, as they are versatile and allow for creating less fullness such as creating a more defined waist, or more fullness, which is needed when creating a bust.
